This time i ordered 200g Rajasthani Twilight Ancient Sunrise Henna, 100g Ancient Sunrise Indigo and 100g of Ancient Sunrise Cassia. Plus i added 2g of CMC powder to make the Indigo easier to handle. Total cost $45.50 including shipping.

The texture is silky, creamy in your hair, and fine enough for delicate body art. Our tests show that it does a wonderful job of covering gray in brunette and black hair. It really is a lovely henna.

When you first mix up Twilight, you might hear gritting. This is not sand! Laboratory microscopy shows that Twilight has NO sand, but does have fragments of calcium oxalate crystals. Calcium oxalate is naturally produced by some henna plants. Spinach, kiwi fruit and tea leaves also produce calcium oxalate. Calcium oxalate is natural and harmless in henna paste, and it may correlate with higher dye content henna. The calcium oxalate dissolves in lemon juice, and rinses right out. If you use water or tea to mix your henna, you may have to rinse your hair more than once.

I will ad this to the henna i have to make enough for my long hair.

Henna and Indigo

I think I will use 1 package Indigo and 2 packages Henna this time to tone down the red a bit on my brunette hair. Indigo has to be used immediately. Prepare your henna the day before as usual. After the henna has dye release and you are ready to dye your hair, mix up the indigo with water. Then mix the indigo and the henna together and apply. Do not add lemon juice to indigo, use water.

Dyed the hair with Henna today. Used 1.5 packages, it wasn't enough. Should use 2.5 packages next time. Need to order again, don't have enough henna to die the hair again.
